Core Workflows

Facilities & Components

A Facility in Fieldnorm represents one licensed production site — for example a battery, wellsite, or compressor station. Each facility has its own component registry and inspection history. You must register at least one facility before you can run inspections.

Adding a New Facility

  1. 1Click Facilities in the sidebar to open the Facilities list.
  2. 2Click Add Facility (top right).
  3. 3Complete the Facility Details form with your facility name, AER licence number, address, city, number of wells, and any notes.
  4. 4Add components (see the section below).
  5. 5Click Create Facility. You will be taken to the Facility Detail page.

Adding Components to a Facility

Components are the individual pieces of equipment you are required to inspect under D060 — valves, connectors, flanges, pump seals, open-ended lines, pressure relief valves, and so on. You can add them when creating a facility or at any time from the facility detail page.

Click Add Component on the facility form. For each component enter:

FieldRequiredNotes
Component TagYesUnique identifier used in inspection results and reports (e.g. V-101, FLG-04)
Component TypeNoValve, Connector, Flange, Pump Seal, Open-Ended Line, PRV, or Other. Defaults to Valve.
DescriptionNoOptional note about the component location or purpose
High-Bleed FlagNoMark if this component is classified as high-bleed under D060. Shown with a ⚡ icon in inspection forms.

There is no limit to the number of components per facility. To remove a component before saving, click the trash icon on its row.

Viewing a Facility

Click Manage on any facility in the list to open the Facility Detail page. This shows:

  • A status banner — green (inspection up to date), amber (due within 60 days), or red (overdue / never inspected), with the exact date the next inspection is due.
  • A component table listing all active components, their type, description, and high-bleed flag.
  • An inspection history panel showing the 5 most recent inspections with their date, type, component count, and leak count.

From the facility detail page you can click Start Inspection to begin a new inspection pre-loaded with this facility, or Export Report to jump to the PDF report generator for this facility.

Inspection required before recording results: The inspection form will be disabled for any facility that has no components. Make sure you have added at least one component before trying to start an inspection.

Editing a Facility

New components can be added to a facility at any time by editing the facility record. Full editing of facility details (name, licence number, address) and existing component details (tag, type) is not available through the interface in V1. This is planned for a future release. To correct a facility record in V1, contact your system administrator.
